To mark the 50th anniversary of TCS tire testing, the Swiss Touring Club, together with its partners ADAC and ÖAMTC, tested 50 205/55 R16 91V tires for the European market.
All tires are evaluated on the basis of driving characteristics and safety, as well as parameters related to comfort, convenience, environmental permanence. Overall, the products were tested using 15 different evaluation criteria.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of tire testing, TCS and its partners have introduced a new two-part evaluation, based on which, in future, driving safety (70%) and environmental protection (30%) will be considered when calculating the final result.
Driving safety is based on well-known standards of wet and dry driving behavior. The environmental aspect, on the other hand, refers to known criteria such as mileage, fuel consumption or noise, to which we now add wear, tire weight and sustainability (production location and relevant certificates). In addition, the entire tire will be inspected more closely to analyze whether it is new or reclaimed or has residues on it that may be unnecessarily and uncontrolled during the first few kilometers released into the environment.
Contaminant analysis of the 50 tires tested also checked for the presence of toxic substances in the rubber.
Ten of the 50 tires received a "highly recommended" rating, and seven tires failed the test and were classified as hazardous.
The Kenetica Pro KR210 is the only affordable tire that comes closest to a "highly recommended" result. With the highest score of "recommended", the KENDA ranked 11th out of 50 tested tires and thus topped the "recommended" evaluation group.
Kenetica Pro KR210 is Keneda's latest high-performance tire for small and medium-sized cars, filling the gap in the small size of the EMERA A1 UHP product line.
