The wait is over! Kenda USA is proud to introduce the new Vezda UHP A/S KR400 with projected availability in Spring 2017. Kenda recognizes the need to deliver a value-priced UHP All-Season tire for drivers of sports cars, sedans, and coupes who are looking to enjoy driving their cars year-round. The Vezda UHP, is Kenda’s Ultra High Performance tire formulated with a special silica compound combining summer levels of wet and dry performance with strong cold weather and light snow capability. The KR400 line will feature 43 sizes fitting wheels 16”-20 and covering over 85% of the UHP North American fitments. “The UHP market is one of the largest niche markets for our dealers and distributors in North America.” Jimmy Yang, President, Kenda Tires. “The KR400 is a cutting-edge UHP product that showcases the capability of Kenda’s North American Technical Center and Engineering team.”
The Vezda UHP A/S tire was developed at the new Kenda American Technical Center in Green, Ohio to provide a great ride and responsive handling in the UHP category. The KR400 offers a five rib asymmetric pattern with optimized footprints that provide excellent wear backed by a 50,000 mile limited warranty. 3D siping provides good snow traction while maximizing dry handling performance. Four large circumferential grooves give the tire great hydroplaning resistance and wet traction performance and a rim flange protector helps shield the wheel from curb damage. Dan Shavers, Chief Engineer of Tire Engineering Development for Kenda says “We are very proud of the exceptional winter and tread wear performance in addition to excellent UHP performance in dry and wet conditions of this tire. This was made possible by utilizing a brand new silica based tread compound combined with the use of advanced computer modeling tools to balance the overall design of the tire. We believe this is a great accomplishment for Kenda because a well-balanced performing tire is not normally the main focus for tier 2/3 UHP All-Season products. “
The KR400 debuted at SEMA, mounted and displayed on Jeff Courtney’s MASERATI GRANTURISMO MC GT4. Races have always been the most demanding test-bench for all cars. It is in races that new technologies and materials are experienced and it is on circuit that it has been decided to develop the GranTurismo MC GT4, by raising the performances of the GranTurismo S to those of a pure race car. Jeff Courtney has had a long time partnership with Kenda Tires and currently races in the Pirelli World Challenge. The Maserati features a V8 4.691cc engine delivering over 480BHP, 1.410Kg dry weight, carbon fiber bodywork, a Brembo racing brake system, electro-hydraulic 6 speed gearbox with paddle shift, FIA homologated chassis, and an integrated datalogger. Besides the performance of race car, the GranTurismo MC GT4 embraces two main brand values: a timeless design and the iconic sound of the Maserati engine. The power and beauty of this vehicle will help showcase the exceptional look and performance of the Vezda UHP A/S tire.
